Desert Rain

Watching people having fun on the road, imagining how it must be; is a different story. You know only when you actually ride. And it is a misnomer that you need to ride with your entire house tied on the back of a 4 cylinder cycle! In fact, it is most fun when you have nothing to worry about. Riding into nowhere with no baggage (body & mind) is what makes a ride worth the vacation.
I have been visiting Jodhpur almost every year since a long time now. For the first time, we rode there! Most pro-bikers have reservations against which bike qualifies to be a cross-country ride. Of course, it would be out of this world if I were aboard The Trooper. Nevertheless, it didn't really matter as we had our own desi Robbie Maddison teaching and flaunting his skills  known to the whole of Kanamwar Nagar except his mother!
Talking about the motorcycles a.k.a. "my foot". All the "it doesn't matter which bike you ride as long as you have fun" is first order bullshit! We rode around on 100 cc CD Dawns, CD Deluxes and Splendors. Just in case, you haven't heard about Dawn and Deluxe, please do not Google it! (I am assuming you know what Splendor is - Desh ki dhadkan after all). In simple terms, these are bikes that weigh less than your girlfriends!
All in all, even the blue city can vanish all blue moods when the journey is so much fun...

  1. Nicely written.. bt i would me more glad,if you would have named CHRIS PFEIFFER.
But the our journey which started and ended with the train unfortunately. It was only the bike part of the journey which made the whole journey FUCK AWEOME..(sorry to use such words there's gona be lots more coming up like those..*winks*)But I jusT used those words so that the readers just getS into the intensity of THE bike ride.No matter what kind of machine we riding.
There were some good 100cc bikes, which blindly refused to climb up some small slopes on the outskirts..but these machines reaLly had enough power to really run more than 140+ kms per day. With out the engine break down or engine geting over heated.comparing the bikes with the kind of road we drove on.Theses bikes should be adequatly strengthened so as to withstand the tremendous heat, bad roads, climbing etc..
But the stunts part of the trip really made the day of three guy (not mentioning the name) who really put some efforts to learn the skills in very short duration of time...no matter it was raining, cold, independent of the climatic condition.:P
Hope there's gona be lots more riding coming up in future on some lots more power machines.

  2. Oh...I so forgot about the slope bit!
True about the bike strength. Considering how much and how we rode, they still worked super fine! And sure, there is a lot more riding coming up. On much bigger, better and meaner rides! \m/
